A collaborative robot (cobot) is a robot designed for direct interaction with humans within a shared workspace. The verification of collaborative robots, whose operational cooperation is based on power and force limiting, is performed according to the harmonized standards STN EN ISO 10218-1 and 2 in conjunction with the ISO/TS 15066 standard. This standard is used to measure the force and pressure during quasi-static contact exerted by the cobot on the relevant part of the human body. Technická inšpekcia, a.s. possesses the measuring equipment required to verify these parameters.
What the Measurement Includes
- Measurement of force during contact between the relevant body part and the cobot
- Measurement of pressure during contact between the relevant body part and the cobot
- Graphical analysis and evaluation of the time course of the measured force and pressure distribution to verify limits in transient and quasi-static areas
- Verification of limits for 29 human body parts defined in ISO/TS 15066
- Inspection of cobot speed limits for the relevant human body part
Applicable Standards
- ISO/TS 15066 — Collaborative robots
- STN EN ISO 10218-1 — Safety requirements for industrial robots
- STN EN ISO 10218-2 — Robot systems and integration
