Certification activity

Directive 2006/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on machinery

Conformity assessment in accordance with the DIRECTIVE 2006/42/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on machinery (“the Directive”) is carried out in the following range, which is depending on whether the machinery is included in Annex IV Directive  or not, Technická inšpekcia, a. s., pursuant  to Art. 12 paragraph. 2, para. 3 point. a), b), c) and par. 4 point. a), b) and Annexes IX and X of the Directive) carries out:

  1. conformity assessment of machinery not listed in Annex IV Directive - if the applicant voluntarily decided to invite the Technická inšpekcia, a. s., as an accredited inspection body for conformity assessment based on internal production control machinery under Annex VIII Directive
  2. the conformity assessment of machinery referred to in Annex IV of Directive 
  • if manufactured in accordance with harmonized technical standards (EN) and provided   that those standards govern all relevant requirements listed in Annex I of the Directive and the manufacturer or his authorized representative shall choose one of the following methods
  • EC type-examination in accordance with Annex IX of Directive together with an assessments of conformity to internal production control machinery under Annex VIII, or
  • Consideration and approval of a full quality assurance according to Annex X Directive
  1. conformity assessment of machinery referred to in Annex IV of Directive – if  they are not   made in accordance with EN or are manufactured according to these  standards only partially, or where those standards do not provide all the relevant  requirements  according to Annex I of the Directive, or if for the machinery there STN EN and the manufacturer or authorized representative shall apply one of the following conformity assessment procedures:
  • EC type-examination in accordance with Annex IX Directive together with an assessment conformity based on internal production control for machine-based management Annex VIII of the Directive, or
  • Consideration and approval of a full quality assurance according to Annex  X Directive.

Technická inšpekcia, a. s., as Notified Body with an Identification number 1354 performs a conformity assessment of the following machinery:

Machines and groups of machines

 (List of machinery for which the Technická inšpekcia, a.s.  apply procedure under  Art. 12 paragraph., 3 point. b) and c), para 4 point. a) and b) (Annex IV  to the Directive):

  1. Circular saws (single- or multi-blade) for working wood and materials with similar physical characteristics
  2. Hand-fed surface planing machinery for woodworking
  3. Thicknessers for one-side dressing having a built-in mechanical feed device, with manual loading and/or unloading for woodworking
  4. Band-saws with manual loading and/or unloading for woodworking a material with similar physical characteristics.
  5. Combined machinery of the types referred to in paragraphs 1 to 4 and 7 for working with wood and material with similar physical characteristics
  6. Hand-fed tenoning machinery with several tool holders for woodworking
  7. Hand-fed vertical spindle moulding machinery for working with wood and material with similar physical characteristics
  8. Presses, including press-brakes, for the cold working of metals, with manual loading and/or unloading, whose movable working parts may have travel exceeding 6 mm and a speed exceeding 30 mm/s
  9. Injection or compression plastics- moulding machinery with manual loading or unloading
  10. Injection or compression rubber-moulding machinery with manual loading or unloading
  11. Vehicle servicing lifts
  12. Devices for the lifting of persons or of persons and goods involving a hazard of falling from a vertical       height of more than three meters.
