SCOPE - design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment (vessels, boilers, piping, valves, safety valves etc.) and assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure (gauge pressure) greater than 0,5 bar
For the purposes of this Directive, the following definitions apply:
- pressure equipment- vessels, piping, safety accessories and pressure accessories, including, elements attached to pressurized parts, such as flanges, nozzles, couplings, supports, lifting lugs
- vessel - housing designed and built to contain fluids under pressure including its direct attachments up to the coupling point connecting it to other equipment; a vessel may be composed of more than one chamber
- piping - piping components intended for the transport of fluids, when connected together for integration into a pressure system piping includes in particular a pipe or system of pipes, tubing, fittings, expansion joints, hoses, or other pressure-bearing components as appropriate
- safety accessories - devices designed to protect pressure equipment against the allowable limits being exceeded, including devices for direct pressure limitation, such as safety valves, bursting disc safety devices, buckling rods, controlled safety pressure relief systems (CSPRS), and limiting devices, which either activate the means for correction or provide for shutdown or shutdown and lockout, such as pressure switches or temperature switches or fluid level switches and safety related measurement control and regulation (SRMCR) devices
- pressure accessories - devices with an operational function and having pressure-bearing housings
- assemblies - several pieces of pressure equipment assembled by a manufacturer to constitute an integrated and functional whole;

- MODULE A2: INTERNAL PRODUCTION CONTROL PLUS SUPERVISED PRESSURE EQUIPMENT CHECKS
- MODULE B: EU-TYPE EXAMINATION
- MODULE C2: CONFORMITY TO TYPE BASED ON INTERNAL PRODUCTION CONTROL PLUS SUPERVISED PRESSURE EQUIPMENT CHECKS AT RANDOM INTERVALS
- MODULE D: CONFORMITY TO TYPE BASED ON QUALITY ASSURANCE OF THE PRODUCTION PROCESS
- MODULE D1: QUALITY ASSURANCE OF THE PRODUCTION PROCESS
- MODULE E: CONFORMITY TO TYPE BASED ON PRESSURE EQUIPMENT QUALITY ASSURANCE
- MODULE E1: QUALITY ASSURANCE OF FINAL PRESSURE EQUIPMENT INSPECTION AND TESTING
- MODULE F: CONFORMITY TO TYPE BASED ON PRESSURE EQUIPMENT VERIFICATION
- MODULE G: CONFORMITY BASED ON UNIT VERIFICATION
- MODULE H: CONFORMITY BASED ON FULL QUALITY ASSURANCE
- MODULE H1: CONFORMITY BASED ON FULL QUALITY ASSURANCE PLUS DESIGN EXAMINATION
Technická inšpekcia, a. s., (Notify Body No. 1354) performs following additional activities:
- European approval of materials
- Approval of operating procedures and personnel for permanent joints as welds, brazed joints or for procedures and personnel for expansion (tube-to-tubesheet)
Technická inšpekcia, a. s. in position as accredited independent inspection body can assist manufacturer with MODULE A in the form of voluntary certification of equipment, technical file and/or procedures.
Technická inšpekcia , a. s in position as accredited certification body can certify quality assurance system of material manufacturer according to the point 4.3 Annex I of the Directive
